Manual Test Analysts – Birmingham
We are looking to recruit Manual Test Analysts to work within JHC’s Testing Team, ensuring the delivery of quality software by providing rigorous testing activities and accompanying documentation to support each release.
Required to work on a variety of test work-streams across JHC, this could include Client Sponsored test projects, regular Regression Test projects, and also Figaro Support team work over the core Figaro product.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the existing suite of Test scripts to test the core functionality of all Figaro applications, including the Front Office applications and Web trading platform.
- Contribute to test planning by providing estimated schedules of testing activities and identifying areas of highest business risk
- Write Integration Test scripts for new developments and add these to the Regression suite to extend the current test scope
- Report any issues found and monitor progress to manage software updates and error correction with developers
- Document test result and contribute into end of phase reports and metrics
Consult with JHC clients to scope their testing requirements and contribute to the planning of agreed testing activities.
Analyse client sponsored software developments to derive System Test conditions
- Prioritise test conditions, create User Acceptance Test scripts and gain client sign off
- Execute UAT scripts and /or co-ordinate UAT testing activities
- Contribute to user documentation for new software developments and provide training as required.
- Work with developer to shape and improve testing standards and procedures across the company
- Maintain the quality of testing through control of test environments, test data and configuration items
Person Specification
- Powerful and pragmatic analysis skills, with sound problem solving ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to operate at any level within JHC and forge strong working relationships with external clients, end users and software developers.
- Capable of quickly gaining knowledge of the processes of the stockbroking industry
- Committed to studying and passing industry recognised examinations.
- Must have a commitment to quality and a thorough approach to work
Additionally
Experience:
Essential:
- The successful candidate must have a thorough knowledge of structured test methods and processes.
- Minimum 3 years testing experience incorporating Unit Testing, System Testing, User Interface Testing, Acceptance Testing and Integration Testing, ideally against the following: AS400, Windows Software, Database applications and Web (eg Access, SQL Server, MS Query).
Desirable:
- Experience of working within the financial sector, with stockbroking knowledge, being an advantage, although not essential.
- ISEB/ISQTB Foundation Certificate in software testing qualified, with awareness of the Software Development Life cycle.
- Experience of automated testing tools, such as Test Bench and QTP and test management tools such as Quality Centre.
Qualifications:
- Ideally we are looking for a candidate with a good educational background to either Degree or A level standard or equivalent and ISEB qualified to foundation level.
Salary & Benefits:
Basic salary of £24k to £29k p.a. plus bonus dependant on qualifications and experience based on a 35 hour working week.
