JHC PLC - Systems and Outsourcing for the Securities Industry | Trainee Analyst/Programmers

Trainee Analyst/Programmers

London Bridge, Birmingham City Centre & Newcastle City Centre

We have vacancies for ambitious, driven graduates who are looking to kick-start a successful career in software development. We have positions as Trainee Analyst/Programmers available in all our offices. Upon joining, you will be assigned to one of JHC’s programming teams, either working for a specific client, or within a functional area of our core Figaro product. Responsibilities of the role will initially include:

Software development projects

  • Involvement in projects of varying size and complexity, in order to provide new software solutions for our clients.
  • Working from written software requirements specifications, and as experience grows, writing your own specifications based on client requirements.

Client Support

  • Providing assistance and advice to our clients in their use of Figaro.
  • Solving problems experienced by clients when using Figaro.
  • Carrying out business analysis and writing business specifications and reports.

Our training programme spans a 2 year period, and within this time you will receive full training on the various software programming languages we use. The training will consist of formal training sessions, as well as informal ‘on-the-job’ training. You will also receive training on the stockbroking and fund management industries, our core software system, and how our clients use Figaro. Within 2 years, trainees will normally progress to fully qualified programmers within JHC. Beyond this we provide staff with excellent career development opportunities, and pride ourselves on developing from within, testament to which is that the majority of the partnership joined JHC initially as graduates.

The candidates will be graduates, preferably in maths or science, with at least two A grades at A-level, one of these being in mathematics.  We are particularly looking for individuals with a good understanding of computing in general and strong analytical and communication skills including excellent spoken and written English. Previous programming experience and dealing with clients at a professional level would be advantageous, but is by no means essential.

JHC is looking for members of staff to take the company into its next exciting phase of development.  Trainees will be developed for roles within product development, team management, project management, and account management.  We are looking for people who want to take on responsibility; people with ambition who will drive the company forward; people with new ideas who are not afraid to share them.

Salary of up to £24K p.a, dependant on location, qualifications and experience based on a 35 hour working week.

Benefits: Private Medical Healthcare Scheme, Healthcare Cash Plan, Stakeholder Pension Scheme, Monthly Entertainments Allowance, Childcare Voucher Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme, 25 days holidays plus public holidays.
